Rakeback: Revolutionizing Poker

Poker is becoming more and more popular each day.  What used to be played in bars and casinos and basements has now spread to prime time TV and now even the internet!  This increased popularity means more people are taking up the game.

As anyone who plays poker on the internet knows, the game room will take a percentage of each pot (called the "rake") from each hand to help support its own costs.  Many real life casinos do this, too.

Some online game rooms now, however, are tending to give some of the rake back to the players.  This is both an attempt to show appreciation to customers as well as to help attract more players.  The way it works is usually like this: at the end of each month the player will be paid a percentage of the rake he has contributed.  Some places will pay 10-20% and others will pay as much as 30% back!  Depending on your style of play, this can mean you get a few bucks back each month, or even a few thousand back each month.

The benefits of this should be readily apparent:

If you're a beginner - it will help you last longer.  If your account balance is falling, you'll get a little boost each month from the rakeback.

If you're advanced - your account balance will grow even faster as you are paid a monthly bonus.

For these reasons, if you enjoy playing online you may wish to look into finding game rooms that incorporate the rakeback feature.
